Binocular care, optic tips and ideas

These Binocular care tips will help you to keep your Binoculars looking new and working great.

Most Binocular care tips are common sense, but a reminder is still helpful.

The hot sun plays havoc with Binoculars, so don't put them in the hot sun or in your hot trunk of your car or elsewhere that can cause them harm from the not sun.

May I suggest that you keep your Binoculars in the cases that it came in to help protect it from harm.

Remember, don't touch the lense with your finger as the oil is not good for the lense.

Use cleaning kitsto remove any prints, dirt, salt, or waterspots you may have gotten on your lenses. There are many cleaning kits on themarket which usually contain a cleaning chamois, cleaning fluid, and more.

Use of these kits is highly recommended. After all, we are not talking about an inexpensive item here. So take good care ofit. If you do get sand or dirt on the lense, try to get it off as soon as possible so you don't scratch the lense.

NEVER try to open the Binoculars as you may hurt the alignment and this is better left the the people who know about these things.

Always try to keep the Binoculars on the strap and carry them around your neck. This is preferred to swinging it from your hand while you are walking. When getting into boats, jumping logs or climbing, please secure your Binoculars to prevent harm.

If it does happen that your Binoculars steam up, the best suggestion I can make is try to put it in a warm place and keep it dry for awhile.

If it does happen that you drop it in the lake, take it to a professional for repair. Let me warn you, this could get pricey.

Don't forget to clean your Binoculars often being careful not to damage the lenses as mentioned before,(Don't touch the lenses with you fingers.) See more at Binoculars
