Caring-for-your-tent especially Caring for your tent is important, wspecially if you are camping in wet weather, don’t forget to dry your tent out. In fact, you should dry it out every time before you store it away. I have seen some people pack their tent up wet only to be surprised to see and smell the mold etc.. when they planned to use it the nest time.

You should always make sure that you tent is clean an dry before storing It away for your next outing. The best thing to do, is on a clear dry sunny day put it out to dry out. Also don’t store you tent in the sun as the heat from the sun for long periods could cause problems with your coating.

As for the poles make sure to wipe them dry also before storing. Check the zipper and clean it off . Wipe the dirt off and maybe if needed spray the zipper with a silicone spray . Use one that can be used and is safe for fabrics.

Tent problems will result

Care for your tent or you may get a visit from the mildew man.He leaves a musty order and a fungus that can penetrate a tent coating. The mildewman can also destroy a tents waterproofing.

Tip:

To fight the mildew man use a cup of salt, cup of lemon(concentrated) gal. of hot water. Put in the sun to dry. Then apply a coat of tent treatment to restore its’ coating. A possible for this is Mcnett tent coating or check with you tent manufacture for help. Take care of your tent so it can take care of you. You could also use some thing like a poly coat and a seam sealer made by aquaseal. Don't allow mildew to penetrate the coating of your tent. If this happens, it will grow between the fabric and coating . This will eventually cause loss of waterproofing and deterioration of the tent.

Caring for the problem can be best handled by airing your ten out you can open windows etc. This problem comes from condensation that forms at night on the outside of your tent and when it heats up during the day the moisture drips.
