first aid kits, your safty net

First aid kits, should be right up there with food, shelter, and water. It is that important

You never know when a medical emergency will happen,----cuts, sprains, punctures, poison plants, and more.

It is a good idea to read medical care books or possibly take a course on what to do if you spend a good deal of time in the outdoors.Maybe check out Web MD for help and ideas. There are a ton of first aid kits on the market, some good and some not so good. Be sure to check out what will be best for you in your situation. This will also help give you a clue on what you should be putting in your kits.

Some items to consider taking alone include: disinfectant, eyewash, blankets, neosporin ( great for many things), adhesive tape ( get the good stuff not the stuff that does not hold) gauze and pads elastric wrap, head ache meds.

I say that because you need to be aware of such things as objects in the eye, nose or inhaled. Fractures, heat cramps, heat exaustion, hypothermia, nosebleeds, punture wounds, bites, strokes, ticks, burns and many, many, more.

This is not ment to scare you but only to make you aware of the things that may come up in the ourdoors. Most of the time everything goes without a hitch. You need however to be prepared with first aid kits and some knowledge on what to do when these things do arise. The kits that we sold the most of as an outdoor distributor was the kit made by atwater carey which I believe has now been bought out be Wisconsin Pharmical, the same company that makes stingeze, potable Aqua ( the water purification tablet) and repel the bug spray. A fine company, I met the owner several times and John seems to be a good guy.

If this does nothing more than make you aware that first aid kits are something to remember to take with you in the outdoors, than--- mission accomplished.

This was not intended to give you first aid advice because I am not qualified in doing that if need to know more, as I stated above to to Web MD on the web or get a good book to help you out.Remember to take plenty of drinking water, if you are active, you will need it. Have Fun!!!!Remember, you don't need to be a doctor, just learn some of the basics.
