SOCKS CAN MAKE YOU HAPPY
Socks can keep you comfortable and happy,Especially when they are the correct pair. Keeping comfortable while in the outdoors makes all the difference in the world. It can make the difference between a good enjoyabletime and one that is forgettable.
How do you do this----- insure an enjoyable time in the great outdoors?
The only way I know is to make your feet happy. Happy feet, make for a happy body
and a fun time . This means you need to pay attention to your feet, you know the ones that
do the job of carrying around of your bod. No sore feet or blisters to spoil the fun
How do you do that?
You need to pay attention to the socks that you wear. For camping and hiking specifically
you should consider a
wool sock.
Why do I say that? Well, unlike cotton, wool for most people is very comfortable
and it is a good wicking fiber. For those of you that can’t stand wool (Like my wife) look at a softer
wool fiber, the one now that comes to mind is Merino wool. I have a pair of soft wool socks that I have
had for years and I call them a soft lambs wool I’m not sure if that is the correct name.
made them and I absolutely love them. This kind of sock usually costs a little more than a regular
sock However, in the long run, it’s worth it.
Remember keep those feet happy. Paying a little extra for a great pair of socks is a wise investment and you
will be glad you did it. If wool is a problem for you, maybe try looking at a liner such as a syenthetic fiber like polypropylene or maybe something similar. Silk comes to mind as another choice.
Let’s talk about getting the right fit
You should start by knowing your right foot size. You can find this out by going to
the shoe department at a local retailer and using the measuring device he has ( I am not sure
what it is called, I am sure you have seem them and know what I ‘m talking about) You can then use that to
find your foot size. If you know your shoe size you can use that to find your sock size.
You should try to get shoes and socks at the same timethis will help you get a better fit. I’m sure you know what I am talking about, you buy a pairof boots go home and put on your shocks and find that the fit is to tight. Socks should fit perfectly, if they are to tight they will restrict circulation and if they are to loose, they will rub and cause blisters. To know more about the socks you are you are buying go to fiber technology info.It is probably a good idea to know more about the fibers etc.so we have provided you with a list including some information on them .Also check out tips-on- sock-care

Keep om mind that socks are rated for activity and temperature.
Also because it is called wool sock does not mean that it is 100%
wool. The manufacture usually includes some nylon or other fabric
to give the sock elasticity. This done so it won't slide down
on your ankles but rather provide staying power and a better feel.
Take for example
Fox Rivers
Expedition sock---
It is listed as a medium weight 2 ply ragg wook sock.
However, it it 56% wool and 44% nylon.
Your socks should wick moisture away from your feet. Some brand names thatdo this include socks made with coolmax, thermolite, and mirino wool to name a few.
